¡Hola a todos! Han pasado tres días desde Halloween pero quería compartir con vosotros la película que vi esa noche. Es para todos los públicos, como a mí me gusta y además, una producción de los estudios Walt Disney por lo que seguro que no puede fallar. Además, por si fuera poco, Kenny Ortega, el director, también ha trabajado en las películas de High School Musical, con Michael Jackson y si no me equivoco, en las películas de los Descendientes. No digo nada y lo digo todo. ¡Dentro reseña!
Cuando busqué qué películas ver por Halloween y decidí que Hocus Pocus sería la elegida, no sabía que la había producido Walt Disney, simplemente me llamó la atención porque Sarah Jessica Parker salía en ella.

Hocus Pocus empieza cuando un chico debe rescatar a su hermana de unas brujas que se dedican a matar niños para mantenerse jóvenes. El chico fracasa en el intento por salvar a su hermana y además las brujas lo convierten en un gato inmortal. Tras esto, los habitantes del pueblo de Salem ahorcaron a las brujas pero en sus momentos finales, las tres mujeres lanzaron una maldición por la cual prometían retorno y venganza.

Esto ocurrió en el siglo XVII aproximadamente. Ahora nos remontamos a 1993. Max Dennison acaba de mudarse a Salem con su familia y digamos que no se integra muy bien en el instituto porque todo el tema de las brujas le parece una estupidez. Sin embargo, la noche de Halloween mientras acompaña a su hermana Dani a por chuches, llega a casa de la chica que le gusta y para impresionarla decide ir a la casa donde supuestamente vivían las tres brujas y que, según contaban en Salem, estaba maldita. Exhibiendo su faceta más incrédula e ignorante, Max encendió la vela de fuego negro y propició que las brujas volvieran. De este modo, su hermana, la chica que le gusta y el gato inmortal deberán salvar a todos los niños de Salem y matar a las brujas de nuevo para que no vuelvan a hacer ningún daño.

La película estuvo muy entretenida y además la productora supo jugar con todas las creencias que la gente tenía acerca de las brujas: servidoras del demonio, asesinas de almas inocentes, volar en escoba, aquelarres… y todo ello de un modo cómico porque recordemos que las hermanas Sanderson (las brujas) llevaban 300 años muertas y cuando regresaron se encontraron un mundo totalmente distinto al que dejaron. Así que mientras perseguían a los chicos que las habían resucitado, se tenían que enfrentar a las novedades del siglo XX.

En definitiva, es una peli que os recomiendo. Sobre todo si pasáis Halloween con niños o simplemente queréis un Halloween acto para todos los públicos. Por cierto, parece ser que hay rumores de que van a hacer Hocus Pocus 2. ¿Será cierto?

Hi, everyone! There have been three days since Halloween but I want to share with you the movie I saw that night. It is for all ages, as I like and, besides, it’s a Walt Disney production so it is sure it can’t fail. Also, the director, Kenny Ortega, worked in High School Musical movies, with Michael Jackson and, if I’m not wrong, he also worked in the Descendants movies. I’m saying nothing but I’m saying everything. Let’s go with the movieview!

When I was looking for films to watch in Halloween and I decided to chose Hocus Pocus, I didn’t know it was produced by Walt Disney Studios, I was interested simply because Sarah Jessica Parker played on it.

Hocus Pocus starts when a boy have to rescue his sister from witches that kill children to remain young. The boy failed in his mission and also the witches turned him into an immortal cat . After that, the people of Salem hanged the witches but in their last moments, the three women put a curse on in which they promised to come back and take a revenge.

This happened in 17th century more or less. Now we are in 1993. Max Dennison just move with his family to Salem and he doesn’t fit very well in his high school because he thinks all the witches stuff is a stupidity. However, at Halloween night while he was accompanning his little sister Dani asking for sweets, they arrived to the girl’s house of whom he’s fallen in love. So to impress her, he decided to go to the house where it is supossed the three witches lived and that it was said in Salem, was cursed. Displaying his most sceptical and stupid face, Max lighted on the candle of black fire so the witches came back. In that way, he, his sister, the girl he likes and the immortal cat should save the children of Salem and kill the witches again to avoid they can cause pain again.

The movie was very enjoyable. Also the producers knew how to play with all the beliefs people had about witches: servants of the devil, innocent souls killers, fly riding a broom, witches’ Sabbath… and all of that in a comical way because we have to remember that Sanderson sisters (the witches) were dead during 300 years and when they came back we found the world totally changed. So while they pursued the kids that resurrected them, they have to face the new things of 20th century.

To sum up, I recommend the film. About all if you celebrate Halloween with children or simply you want a Halloween for all ages. By the way, it looks like they will produce Hocus Pocus 2, will it be true?
